Private Client Adviser
Our rapidly growing business is looking for full-time Private Client Advisers to join our successful Estate Planning Team. The role is field based working from home. We have currently vacancies nationwide.
The Principals of Universal started in private practice over twenty years ago and have helped thousands of clients across the country to protect their families. Today they operate a multi-disciplinary practice that brings the skills of Solicitors, Accountants, Chartered Tax Advisors and Chartered Financial Planners together under one roof to provide a holistic range of traditional and specialist estate and tax planning solutions to clients nationwide.
Purpose of Role
You will be responsible for visiting potential clients in the comfort of their own home to discuss their Estate Planning requirements. Your appointments will be arranged for you through leads generated centrally by our very successful Marketing department. We have a track record of excellent service at affordable prices. Our proven Estate Planning solutions are something that you can recommend with confidence.
You will work with a remarkable team of talented professional advisers who thrive on taking a consultative client approach and who have a genuine interest in helping our clients achieve their estate planning needs. You will be supported by a dedicated, office based Personal Legal Assistant and by a fully qualified Legal Team based at one of our regional offices who will be responsible for the production of the legal documentation and written legal advice required for the client.
You will be responsible for;
Attending prearranged appointments - up to 20 per week.
Completing a comprehensive and detailed review of the client’s needs and objectives.
Identifying the client’s needs and making appropriate recommendations to meet their objectives.
Taking the clients instructions on the agreed solution for; Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts etc.
Delivering a first class level of service to the client at all times.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be someone who has a genuine interest and belief in the benefits of Estate Planning and has a passion to provide clients with a bespoke solution to meet their needs. You will be enthusiastic and willing to learn and develop to become a competent professional advisor in this area of the Law. The structure of this position puts you in control of your own income.
You do not necessarily need experience in the estate planning field, as full training will be provided, however, you must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in field based consultation and advice. During an initial probationary period (normally 3 months) you will be required to participate in a structured training program delivered via the Universal Academy, our in-house training platform. This training is designed to equip you with the confidence, knowledge, tools and skills you will need to thrive in your new role. After successfully completing your probation, you will continue to receive ongoing coaching and mentoring, and over a two year period you will be expected to complete role specific STEP qualifications under the supervision of the Universal Academy.
Key attributes for the role;
Previous experience providing field based advice to clients in their own homes. Ideally within a compliant environment within the Estate Planning or Financial Services professions.
Self-driven, results oriented and client focused.
You will exude integrity, professionalism and possess a drive to be successful whilst keeping the needs of the clients at the forefront of your advice.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Good time management skills.
Ability to work to deadlines and targets.
Hold a full UK driving licence.
Excellent Literacy (and Numeracy) skills.
Experienced user of Microsoft based applications.
